Pickups are known for being tough and capable. So when one pickup outshines the rest, you know it's got to be good. That's exactly what the Ford F-150 Raptor is doing in Wetaskiwin, and it's received the Best Pickup of 2017 title from Cars.com.
The Raptor, which is one of the many capable models in the 2017 Ford F-150 lineup, impressed Cars.com in a number of ways, starting with its body construction. The military-grade, aluminum-alloy with eight crossmembers made from 78 percent high-strength steel contribute to a stronger and more rigid body. And yet, it even makes the Raptor 27 kilograms lighter.
The Raptor may weigh less, but that doesn't mean it's less powerful. The twin-turbo 3.5-litre EcoBoost engine puts out up to 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. But what really impressed the judges was its capability. The combination of FOX Racing Shox, and built in steering wheel controls that adjust traction, throttle response, and differentials lets you conquer any terrain, on or off the road.
